Henrico County Public Schools selling iBooks for $50 on August 9th.

I caught this on MacNN a couple of days ago. Henrico County Public Schools is preparing to sell some of its used iBook computers that had been used as part of its effort to provide that provided laptops to every middle- and high-school student and teacher in the Richmond, Virginia-area school district. The iBooks will be available for $50 each (with a one-per-person limit.) during a one-day sale on Tuesday, Aug. 9 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. ET. They will be sold at Richmond International Raceway at 600 E. Laburnum Ave. on a first-come, first-serve basis. The G3-based iBooks feature 320MB of memory and Mac OS X 10.2.8.

For anyone interested, and in the area, here’s the skinny. I’d be there, except I’m in training that day and my employer would take a dim view of me dashing off (even for a cheap laptop.)
