Scripps’ First Broadband Channel To Launch Dec 1

E.W. Scripps has set a Dec. 1 launch date for its broadband channel devoted to kitchen remodeling, the first of what’s expected to be 10 such newcchannels to be launched by the Cincinnati-based media conglomerate over the next two years.

It will use footage from its Home and Garden Television, the Food Network and Do it Yourself channels.

John Lansing, president of Scripps Networks said HGTV Pro, its new online magazine geared toward builders, remodelers and contractors, drew 500,000 unique visitors in June, with 3 million page views.

“For Q3, we’re anticipating as much as a million dollars in ad revenue commitments,” Lansing said “I’m very confident that we can be near break-even in its first year.”
