Hallelujah, an analyst firm that doesn’t think mobile content will be driven by porn. Informa Telecoms and Media has predicted that the market for mobile content will be worth $42.8 billion by 2010, of which $11.2 billion will be from mobile games, with 15 percent of people downloading and playing a game on their handset by this time.
In contrast, “adult entertainment” will bring in $2.3 billion and gambling will bring in $7.6 billion. The report also predicts that “the mobile music sector – ringtones, ring-back tones, full track downloads and streaming services – will be worth around $11 billion by 2010.”
