I-Play has scored the license rights to a mobile game based on the hit TV show 24. “Under an exclusive two-year deal, I-Play has licensed the rights to create, publish and distribute a series of mobile games, wallpapers and ringtones, based on the 24 television series owned by Twentieth Century Fox.” The game will include all the elements of the TV show, except lead character Jack Bauer.
This is a pretty big license to get, and I-Play are hopeful that the TV shows wide popularity across various demographics will translate into the game being bought by people who don’t usually buy mobile games. The on-going nature of the TV show means it should be around for a few more years, although I suspect it’s nearing the end of its run. However, if the game is good it will keep going — I wonder how they’ll do the 24-hour thing…
