Supervising Producers have 7+ years of experience in new media. They are specialists in the areas under their supervision, possess a strong knowledge of best-of-breed practices and keep abreast of industry developments. They are creative individuals whose production expertise allows them to concept and guide complex development efforts. They act as advisors for our clients throughout the company who call on them to advise on integration efforts and “best of breed” functionality. Strong written and verbal communication skills ensure they coordinate and focus efforts between departments and vendors. These same skills allow them to upsell projects throughout the organization, including to top management. Strong managerial skills enable them to effectively lead teams to achieve business goals and to mentor employees to help them achieve their career goals. They are accountable for their own budgets, ensuring that production goals are met. Ultimately, they are directly responsible for increasing site traffic to and creating greater advertising and e-commerce revenue from MTV digital properties.

The Supervising Producer, Wireless Content will aid in the maintenance and creation of compelling entertainment and utility content for an emerging wireless platform. All aspects of entertainment (music, shows, movies, game, original wireless programming, special on-air events, sweepstakes and more) will be developed for the wireless and web/wireless integrated platforms. Working with various production teams, the candidate will tailor concepts to meet strategic needs and priorities and will aid the VP, MTV Digital and Senior Director, Product Development in guiding all projects through design and production. Supervising Producer will be responsible for product, developing and producing all wireless online integration, and ongoing wireless content updates, and will also work with the VP and Senior Director on concept development, page/navigation architecture specifications, functional specifications, project management, and communications regarding wireless plans with other programming and production groups, including technology, design, editorial, music, on-air production, e-com, integrated marketing and ad sales. The Supervising Producer will also work with the centralized wireless group on product development, fulfillment of the overall wireless strategy, and in other capacities as necessary.

Skillset

Project Management

* Create treatments, production schedules and distribute weekly status reports.

* Write Functional Specifications that include Feature Goals, Functional Requirements and Functional
Diagrams.

* Responsible for developing budgets and tracking production expenses.

* Develop RFP’s for outside vendors and guide selection process.

* Work with Legal Department to coordinate contracts, approvals and payments.

Information Architecture

* Ensure user goals are factored into design by developing or assisting in the development of User Personae, User Goals Analysis, Use Case Studies, Wireframes and Site Maps.

* Experience with Usability Testing, including the development of Prototypes, Test Plans and the refinement of efforts based upon findings.

* Enforce site standards including navigation, nomenclature, ad models and image sizes.

Design

* Possess an intimate knowledge of the design process to work with:

o Photographers to produce concepts, shoots, retouching and final images.

o Animators to produce concepts, storyboards and final animations.

o Graphic Designers to produce concepts, identities, mood boards, design comprehensives, presentations and final assets.

Video Production

* Work closely with editorial department to develop concepts and write scripts.

* Involved in all facets of video production including pre-production, live action shoots, editing and motion graphics.

* Knowledge of Windows Media format, encoding standards and Digital Rights Management (DRM).

Page Development

* Expertise with different screen resolutions, platforms, browsers and plug-in’s, especially Flash development and action scripting.

Technology

* Familiarity with three tiered architecture including Operating Systems, Programming Languages, Databases and Middleware.

* Expertise with content management and data collection tools.

* Ability to analyze and evaluate 3rd party applications for licensing or acquisition.

Quality Assurance

* Develop application Testing Requirements and work with Quality Assurance department to formulate and execute Test Plans.

Marketing

* Work closely with Marketing Department to develop concepts and Marketing Plans.

* Oversee development of interactive and video ads for internal and external sites.

* Ensure that all initiatives have visibility to internal and external search engines.

Research

* Work with research Department to track metrics for all initiatives and refine those efforts based upon findings.

Computer Skills

* Expert with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint.

* Proficient with Microsoft Project, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator and Visio.
