Earnings: Google’s Q205 Revenues — $1.384 Billion — Up 98 Percent

Some quick notes while I listen in on the analyst call. Google turned in a record quarter with $1.384 billion in revenues for 2Q05, up 10 percent over 1Q05 and 98 percent over 2Q04. The growth is attributed to strong traffic, enhancements in ad product, and increased interest from advertisers. Operating income was $476 million — 34.4 percent of revenues — compared to $171 million or 24.4 percent of revenues in 2Q04. Net income hit $343 million (24.8 of revenues) compared to $79 million or 11.3 percent of revenues year over year.
– Google-owned sites contributed $737 million or 53 percent of total revenues — up 115 percent from 2Q04.
Partner sites (aka The Google Network) generated $630 million, 46 percent of total revenues, from AdSense. That’s an 82-percent increase year over year.
– The partner revenue share from the network (aka traffic acquisition costs) hit $494 million, up from $277 million in 2Q04.
Earnings release.
