Two former Capital Radio executives are launching an audio download store in UK, a month after U.S.-based Audible formally entered into the market.
audioVille will offer a mix of free and paid-for content when it launches later this week. The site currently boasts licensing deals with the Economist, offering the business magazine’s quarterly technology report in spoken form, and BBC Worldwide.
AudioVille also offers its own content, such as city guides, and plans to let users upload their own content, which, if popular, it will retail on the site.
