Newspaper publisher Journal Register Co (owner of New Haven Register, along with 26 other daily newspapers and 327 non-daily publications in U.S.) announced its Q2 earnings and had strogn earnings for its online division. Online revenues were $2.4 million in the quarter, an increase of 64.4 percent as compared to year-ago quarter. The company’s websites generated approximately 52 million page views during the second quarter, an increase of 59.2 percent as compared to the prior year quarter. The company’s online business continued to “produce substantial operating profits in the second quarter”, according to the release.
