Fujitsu Creates ‘First’ Color, Non-Volatile E-paper

Fujitsu has developed what it claims is the world’s first electronic paper that can be flexed, can display color images and can do so when the power is turned off.

Right now, it only exists in the lab, but Fujitsu said a commercial release is possible between April 2006 and March 2007.

Meanwhile, still in Japan (via Unmediated), a research team from Sony and Riken research institue has developed a new type of display panel that is not only extremely thin and flexible enough to be rolled up like a piece of paper, but also boasts an industry-high resolution of 79dpi.
