Looks like MLB’s digital media arm will not IPO anytime soon..that’s from Bob Bowman, president and CEO of MLB Advanced Media, in this story. Not that it was ever that close to being done.
Anyway, some good figures on the digital arm: Ticket sales, through baseball’s purchase of Tickets.com earlier this year, should hit between $15 million and $16 million this year. Bowman said he hopes to grow MLB.com at around 30 to 50 percent a year over the next five years, driven by cell phone subscription sales.
