Newsweek.com: Production Specialist

As a Production Specialist for Newsweek.com, you will be responsible for coding, testing and implementing products being developed for the web site. You must be able to resolve technical issues on the site through debugging, research and investigation. You will also be responsible for posting both magazine and web-exclusive content to the website. Additionally, you will assist in creating audio and video components for stories, newsletter production and maintaining the online archives. Other responsibilities as assigned.

Must be available to work a rotating schedule: Some weeks would be Monday-Friday, some weeks would be Tuesday-Saturday.

The ideal candidate will have one to two years of web production experience. The candidate must also have a strong understanding of programming logic and have an aptitude to research new technologies. Proficiency in HTML and JavaScript is required. Experience in XML, XSLT, and CSS is preferred. Database experience and experience working with API’s, Perl, and Flash action script, PhotoShop, video and audio editing is a plus. College degree is preferred.
