Jamdat, the LA-based mobile gaming company, might be a target of acquisition by Electronic Arts, according to a research note. “Reports today are repeating earlier summer speculation that Electronic Arts could make a bid for mobile game player Jamdat,” Smith Barney analyst Elizabeth Osur wrote in a note to clients.
But Osur is skeptical that Electronic Arts would acquire Jamdat “based on the primarily licensed nature of Jamdat’s assets.
Gamasutra: Its EA Mobile division has only recently been fast-tracked in terms of expansion, and such a move could be meant to strengthen the group’s standing in the mobile games industry from the very beginning.
