European Business Development Director – Mobile Content

Pre-IPO US company, a provider of a Mobile Application Platform which speeds up and enhances the experience of transaction-oriented online services. The company’s software is deployed by a robust list of global wireless operators on rich media or smart wireless devices based on Microsoft Smartphone, Microsoft Pocket PC Phone Edition, Symbian, Palm, J2ME and other operating systems.

Position:

The Director, Business Development Europe will be accountable for driving identified strategic business development initiatives in region. The Director will be responsible for defining and forming strategic partnerships with key Content Providers both on a regional level and on a local level. These partners will provide key applications to run on the Mobile Applications Platform (MAP) and be proposed as solutions by which the operators can go to market with MAP, introducing and championing innovative product concepts to the company. The Director will work with other company executives and with customers to assess and prioritize requirements and opportunities, and will coordinate with engineering to meet those needs in a timely manner.

Responsibilities:

- Lead and manage regional business development strategies.

- Accountable for development, negotiation, and implementation and on-going management of high quality corporate business partnerships with content providers.

- Collaborate with other company resources including marketing, engineering, sales and product management and ensures strong interdepartmental cooperation.

- Set priorities and schedules to build high quality corporate business relationships that are strategic to the company’s growth.

Required Experience:

- Proven ability to negotiate and close

- Proven ability to write contracts.

- Demonstrated ability to use creativity to develop win-win business relationships.

- Proven experience working with regional, global and local content providers eg Disney

- Technical understanding of wireless data business landscape and demonstrated ability to match companies/technologies to the company business requirements.

- Proven ability to create revenue producing business relationships.

- Ability to create a high level of excitement in the wireless technology space.
