Online auto-shopping site Cars.com, owned by six media companies, has acquired NewCars.com…Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Cars.com is part of Classified Ventures, owned by Gannett, Washington Post, Belo, Knight Ridder, McClatchy and Tribune. It runs other sites targeting online classified advertising, including Apartments.com, Homescape and HomeGain.
This is the second acquisition for the group in a week..last week it bought out HomeGain.
