MetaTV, a SF area-based provider of interactive TV application system software, has merged with TVWorks, the joint venture which MSO’s, Comcast and Cox, set up earlier this year when they acquired the North American assets of ITV middleware provider Liberate Technologies, reports ITVT.
Both Comcast and Cox are major investors in MetaTV: in 2002, they led a fourth round funding, in which the company raised $21 million (Cox also participated in an earlier funding round).
