Dutch telco KPN has started trials of a DVB-H broadcast mobile TV. The company plans on broadcasting “normal TV” that is broadcast using DVB-T technology, except reformated for the smaller mobile screen. “During the trials, KPN will actively test the interactive possibilities with digital TV on a mobile device. By using the mobile network as well as broadcast infrastructure, watching television on your mobile will be more than just a passive experience. This will enable users to directly click-through to specific content, for example to download an mp3 or purchase a ringtone when watching the latest music video clip.”
