The BBC is increasing the amount it spends on external new media commissions by 30 percent, to 8 m GBP, in a move that will inject much-needed cash into the independent production sector…it plans to outsource 19% of its new media services to third-party suppliers for the forthcoming 2005/06 financial year, as it attempts to meet the 25% quota set out in the Graf Report.
It has also created a 750,000 GBP fund that will be reserved exclusively for smaller companies.
