LivingMobile is launching a mobile racing game based on CannonballRun Europe…a rally based on an interesting ‘race’ from the early 1970’s in the US, organized to protest speed limits. That’s worth reading if only for the motorhome filled with “five 55-gallon drums of fuel” which entered.
In keeping with the spirit the game differs somewhat from the normal racing titles, coming across as more of a hyped-up road trip.
Players can pick up money, fuel and passengers (hitchhiker babes thumbing lifts from competitors) along the way, opt to buy a round of beer for other racers at the end of each level (better than at the beginning, I suppose) and of course get chased by the police if the player breaks the speed limit. Also, the tracks are linear rather than cyclical…
