A day after a big WSJ story about troubles with Google’s video effort (copyrights etc), it has removed an unspecified number of copyrighted clips that could be viewed for free through the service, after users alerted the company to the issue. The videos Google removed were submitted by users through a program announced earlier this year.
The unauthorized posting of their videos could heighten TV and film companies’ existing concerns about the vulnerability of their content to piracy online and increase their reluctance to make it available to Google.
