Well, the sample was only 71 magazine websites, so take it as it is. According to the International Federation of the Periodical Press, a little more than half of consumer magazines said their sites are profitable, up from about a quarter two years ago. Another 17 percent said they were losing money, down from 38 percent in 2003.
About two-thirds of revenues came from display advertising…The rest was from sponsorship, e-commerce, subscriptions and syndication.
