Rejected TV Pilot Thrives on P2P

Some rejected TV pilots and shows are showing up on P2P networks…for example, The WB TV network passed on the pilot for Global Frequency, a sci-fi adventure series, and now it is showing up in BitTorrent. Over the last couple of weeks, enough people have downloaded and viewed the pilot online to give producers hope that TV executives might take a second look at the show.

Besides this use, this might be heartening for the likes of Yahoo and AOL…Yahoo picked up a canceled WB show earlier this month and got Pepsi as a sponsor. I also know from sources that AOL is considering something similar with its video effort. MSN or even Google can’t be far behind. You can even extrapolate Google’s video announcement today
