Chennai's Music Collector Goes Digital To Preserve His Rare Music Collection

Khan, who has built his collection through a continued effort for decades, loves to term his collection, a research centre. His collection after all boats the creations of over 375 music directors, in the voices of more than 250 male playback singers and songs penned by over 650 lyricists. His 46-year long collection has Tamil, Telegu and Hindi songs.
Khan started collecting the gramophone records. Later in the nineties when music cassettes and audio recorders made it to the market, Khan started converting these gramophone records to cassettes. And finally with the digital technology becoming popular, Khan took to digitization of his collection.
