Mobile operators are aware of the opportunity in providing content aimed at children, but in this post-Crazy Frog world are nervous about accusations of targeting children. “We’re currently working on a whole portfolio for kids in terms of cartoons etc and we’ve talked to a number of operators about introducing such content,” said McCormack. “However, there’s a nervousness about launching such services particularly following the whole Crazy Frog phenomenon, because many mobile companies don’t want to be accused of targeting children…What I think a lot of operators will do is just make content available but not market it as being specifically for children”.
The other question is who pays for the content, children or their parents…
