The European broadband Internet unit of Liberty Global will start offering movies on-demand, online. It will be rooled out through the company’s chello Internet service.
Under the brand name UPC, Liberty, which is controlled by cable mogul John Malone, operates Europe’s biggest cable TV network in many countries. Its chello broadband Internet service is offered to its cable subscribers.
The announcement, at a VOD conference in London, comes one week after a similar announcement by BSkyB.
