Industry Moves: Nathan Richardson Leaves Yahoo, Joins Dow Jones As SVP & GM, DJ Online

Dow Jones is on the verge of announcing the appointment of Nathan Richardson, till now GM of Yahoo Finance, as GM of its web sites: Wall Street Journal Online, MarketWatch, Barron’s Online and the Journal-branded targeted sites, including CareerJournal.com, RealEstateJournal.com and OpinionJournal.com. He will report to Todd Larsen, president of our Consumer Electronic Publishing unit. Look for an official announcement later today.

According to this bio, Richardson has been at Yahoo since 2000 and GM of Yahoo Finance since 2002. He was on the March cover of Institutional Investor Magazine as the number one e-finance executive.

Bill Bishop reported earlier today that Richardson would be joining Dow Jones.
Update: Some more details from the official announcement and staff message: Richardson’s title is SVP-GM, Dow Jones Online; it’s a new position created as part of the post-MarketWatch realignment. The product GMs will report to him; From Todd Larsen’s staff message: “Nathan will be responsible for driving continued growth, further innovation and seamless coordination across Dow Jones Online sites. He will oversee all product, design and general operational issues, and will be responsible for prioritizing resources across Dow Jones Online to ensure we invest in the places that will best drive growth.” He reports for work July 6.
