The Greater London Authority (GLA) has launched mobile services for its citizens, using the shortcode 62967 — which spells out ‘mayor’ on a telephone keypad. “The first mobile service from the GLA enables users to request tickets for GLA events via SMS. The first event to use this is the mayor’s State of London conference this Saturday…The next stage in the GLA’s mobile strategy will see the use of location based services, enabling Londoners to request information on services and attractions near to their location.”
