Nellymoser has released version 2 of its Asao mobile media platform. The Asao 2.0 (touted as “consumer grade”) delivers “multimedia content to a range of handsets, including Java, BREW and Symbian-enabled devices…Asao also integrates third-party components such as billing, premium SMS and WAP push gateways. Usage statistics, consumer preferences and operational reports also may be generated to measure return on investment. The ability for handset-based searching is standard with Asao 2.0.”
The company is targeting content owners and brand marketers for the platform which — when in place — allows consumers to find, preview and purchase content from the handset. Apparently Nellymoser wants to increase its relationships with carriers but is hindered by the “walled garden” approach adopted by many of them…
