Position Overview
The Marketing Manager will support the marketing initiatives of MusicNet’s distribution partners and content suppliers. This person will be a marketing generalist and will focus on the following:
– CAMPAIGN PLANNING. Work with MusicNet’s partners to provide marketing support as needed, from high-level strategy to detailed tactics and execution.
– MARKET RESEARCH. Lead primary research initiatives. Develop topics and approach; manage research vendors that field surveys and moderate focus groups; analyze data and present findings. Assess and summarize syndicated research.
– DATA ANALYSIS. Help partners analyze sales and usage data to better manage and market their services. Work with MusicNet’s reporting team to construct ongoing reports and conduct ad-hoc analyses.
– COMPETITIVE REVIEW. Track and assess marketing initiatives of competing music services.
Reports to Director, Marketing.
Requirements
– 4-year college degree, preferably in marketing, communications or business.
– 4-6 years of work experience; at least 3 years in a marketing role.
– Strong interest in digital media and music services.
– Experience in, or exposure to, a broad range of consumer marketing activities, including advertising, promotions, research, online (search, email, etc.), guerrilla, etc.
– Background in entertainment marketing or digital media marketing a strong plus.
– Experience in an analyst role. Able to structure analyses, interpret data and communicate findings.
– Ability to translate strategy into actionable plans.
– Excellent written and verbal skills. Clear and organized communication is a must!
– Simultaneously creative and practical. Able to both develop concepts and assess them for effectiveness, implementation, cost, risks, etc.
– Self-directed, organized and flexible. Able to handle multiple projects with little supervision.
– Comfortable taking on projects in unfamiliar subject matters.
Position requires candidate to be on site; there is no telecommuting option.
