A detailed story on the future of AP and its embrace of digital media, much like its rival Reuters…The AP also has dared to ruffle some U.S. newspaper publishers with plans to charge for reusing information online (we’ve covered it in detail here), a move that could be backed by an enforcement unit to police illegal use.
In the autumn, it will begin offering a Web-based multimedia package for young adults. Sometime this year, it also will introduce a more open Internet database system called eAP that will deliver news, photographs, videos and sound clips.
