Leading figures in the mobile gaming industry came together at MEM05 to disucss the need to “deliver quality titles to market — identifying testing, porting and digital rights management as key issues”.
“There are still only about four handset manufactures who are part of a Java-verified programme, and the imperative is on the network operator to push the process further.” They pointed out that porting the game to various handsets is just as important as developing the game in the first place…
Meanwhile, Brian Bruning — director of handheld content for NVIDIA — has called for innovations in the field of 3D graphics, although admits no-one is going to buy a handset just for that.
