This one is sure to raise some regulatory eyebrows: Universal Music Group and EMI Music Publishing have reached agreement on a pact that will include the introduction of new digital products, formats and service offerings in the U.S. and Canada. The agreement covers the distribution of music videos across several platforms, including VOD, video download services and the DualDisc format.
It also includes ringtones and ringbacks on mobile phones; albums and tracks that can be purchased online; and multi-session audio discs.
