Datamonitor predicts the spread of rich-media use to 23 million European households by 2009, based on the idea that “DRM in its most complete form will manage the rights of a piece of rich media content throughout its lifetime thus enabling ‘super-distribution’ in which a consumer is an end-user as well as a node of distribution.”
Prediction aside, an interesting look at the potential move from “copy protection to super-distribution.” Even more interesting in light of the various chatter recently about mini-media hubs like Xbox and an Intel-based Mac Mini.
