MediaBay Inc. is adding some well-connected firepower to its board of directors:
– Carl Rossetti, EVP-corporate development, Time Warner Cable, and president, Time Warner Cable Voice Services.
– Robert Montgomery, a partner at Achilles Partners LLC, an advisory and research firm focused on the media convergence space. Previously, he was managing director of Kagan World Media.
– Marshall Phelps, VP & deputy general counsel for intellectual property, Microsoft, where he supervises the IP groups and oversees both the IP portfolio and the business development group responsibile for making money from IP beyond licensing.
The seats became open as part of the recent restructuring that included $35 million in private equity financing. They are replacing independent directors Steven Yarvis and Paul Neuwirth, and John Levy, the former vice-chairman & CFO who resigned in May. Six-year veteran Rob Toro has been appointed CFO.
