Next month Ask G.o.d. (Go Online Data) will launch its “phoneternet” information service that “will offer users their own personal internet search expert or “Angel” at their beck and call 24/7″. The service is sold on a subscription bases which varies based on how much time you use and how many months you pay for in a go — the most you’ll pay for a 60 minute block is $25 per month. The service works like this: After subscribing you call a toll-free number and ask the Angel (all college graduates, we are assured) your question. They find the answer and tell you (or SMS you, or e-mail you or whatever you want). The service offers any information you can find on the Internet, which is just about everything — directions, stock quotes, movie times, language translations and so on. They can even make purchases on your behalf…I’m imagining a scenario that begins with the question “When is mother’s day?” and ends in the ordering of flowers for special delivery…
