Sify.com: This is one refrain I have heard from most of the gaming company execs…there are not enough gaming talent in the country to recruit for the growing number of projects.
This story says the same thing… With the Indian gaming industry expected to touch, according to research firm AC Nielsen, $50 million this year (with console and PC gaming accounting for $35 million and $15 million, respectively), the sector is going to be a hot area for jobs.
Says Atul Vohra, National Head, Arena Multimedia: “This industry looks out for people better known as ‘Gamers’ who love playing games as well as have a thorough understanding of the mindset of kids as well as young adults and are geared to provide new challenges every day…The Game industry recruiters require modelers, animators (2D &3-D), programmers, game designers, level designers, game testers, user interface artist and various other specialised roles such as creative director, technical director, producer etc.”
