: Peerflix is an early stage, venture backed, consumer Internet company. We offer a legal media trading platform. Currently, the Peerflix service lets members easily trade DVDs that they own and no longer want for the DVDs they really want to watch. Founded in 2004, the company has experienced fast organic growth and received extensive coverage in key media outlets. We are growing our marketing team and are looking for an entrepreneurial, multi-talented Product Marketing Manager.
The (Sr.) Product Marketing Manager duties will focus on understanding customer needs as they relate to the website experience and translating those needs into promotions, content, programs and features that will help us maximize website activity. Reporting directly to the VP of Marketing, and working closely with the company’s founders, this person will also work in cross functional environments, including Business Development, Marketing, and Engineering, to implement and manage website initiatives. Key measures of success for this position will revolve around maximizing user activity and longevity with the service.
Responsibilities
– Build, maintain, execute and communicate website promotional and merchandising calendars;
– Develop thorough understanding of needs and wants of current and potential Peerflix customers based on primary research, member suggestions, customer support events, competitive and strategic environments;
– Use customer insights to optimize communications strategies and help inform data-driven product priorities;
– Maintain and update release calendar of new site features and functionality; interface with all other functions to maximize potential for new launches;
– Manage on-site communication of all site-related events; own corporate blog;
– Devise and execute communication strategies with in-house customer lists;
– Lead graphic design generation for onsite features and promotions;
– Track satisfaction with Peerflix product; maintain updated view of competitive strengths and opportunities;
– Manage development of site content as it relates to user education, activation and retention;
– Build and launch loyalty programs; develop new ideas for driving adoption, activation and revenue;
– Participate in overall strategy setting for marketing, business development and product efforts.
Desired Qualifications:
– Experience building and growing consumer Internet properties required;
– Expertise in setting up, managing and optimizing activation and retention efforts leveraging multiple marketing platforms;
– Minimum 3 years web production experience, specifically in consumer web products;
– HTML, web publishing or graphic design experience a plus
– Results-oriented and strong decision maker with ability to prioritize organizational objectives;
– Excellent web analytical skills; able to analyze statistics and logs; metrics oriented with a well-developed creative eye;
– Passion for start-up, fast-changing, and dynamic industry environments;
– Entrepreneurial, high energy, and flexible – ability to multi-task, roll up sleeves, jump in, and meet aggressive deadlines under pressure with limited time and resources;
– Outstanding interpersonal and communications skills;
– BS/BA required; MBA preferred.
