Textually.org has pointed to an article about a device to backup information on mobile phones. “The device contains a memory chip on which contact information can be stored via infrared transmission or by electrical connection. The device is connected by means of a universal adapter to electric couplings at the bottom of the cell phone. By pressing the back-up button, all the information stored on the cell phone and SIM card is transferred to the memory chip of the device.”
It’s a smart idea to use the electrical couplings to connect to phones, since they tend to be the most constant thing about handsets, but its a bit disappointing the device only appears to backup contact information. While that is the most important information on the handset its not the only information, and certainly not the most expensive, or the most emotionally important. I think newer handset models that can hold a lot more content will create a steady sideline in content backup devices.
