Sonaptic, a British maker of audio technologies for the mobile device market, has received a second round investment from Motorola. In addition to Moto, the round included further investment from Pentech Ventures, and new investment from ROHM, the Japanese semiconductor component manufacturer.
EE Times: Sonaptic has developed a 3D audio engine that creates immersive, three-dimensional sound users can hear through embedded speakers in portable devices or through standard headphones. The technology is suited to multiple applications including games, user interface enhancement, music and ringtones. Sonaptic’s technology is designed for the low power, low resource requirements of mobile phones, personal video and music players, PDAs and gaming platforms.
