Zip TV plans to launch “a range of mobile applications to extend its offering beyond pure red-button interactivity”. The plans include all forms of mobile content, from SMS to Java, including “downloadable branded mobile portals”. The company also plans to have user-generated content play a large part — especially in its new dedicated channel on Sky. “Clients are just getting used to the red button and now there’s this sea-change towards mobile…We want to offer all our clients deeper engagement by combining the two.”
