The Hindu:
Indian Telecom Minister Dayanidhi Maran is visiting the US next month to woo telecom companies to set up shop in India. Maran is a dynamic minister and has some great ideas. (Though I don’t think his plans to look into charging licence fee for 3G is a great idea). This would be a good opportunity for telcos and technology companies to have an audience with the 39-year old, Harvard-educated minister. He will be leaving India on June 5.
According to The Hindu report, Maran would try to convince computer chip manufacturing firms such as Intel and AMD and hard disk manufacturing firms such as Seagate to look at Tamil Nadu for their investments.
