Indiatimes:
A market survey conducted in March by accounting firm Ernst & Young has predicted that the biggest entertainment industry in the world is expected to grow at the rate of 18 per cent annually to gross Rs 10,000 crore ($2.2 billion) in the next four years. The current worth of the industry is pegged at Rs 4,500 crore ($1 billion).
According to Parvinder Bhatia, assistant vice-president, corporate finance, Ernst & Young, the triggers for this great leap forward are the opening up of the overseas market, the multiplex boom, the advent of digital technology and corporatisation of the film sector.
