National Geographic has inked a deal with Mobitel to distribute National Geographic content through mobile providers in Croatia, Slovenia, Serbia, Montenegro, Macedonia, Bosnia and Herzegovina. “Daily offerings will include a picture of the day feature from National Geographic’s still collection; an animal of the day feature that mixes still and moving images with trivia facts and figures; a serialized adventure series featuring daily installments of explorers in the field; and a “where in the world” feature that gives viewers images and clues to guess that day’s secret locale. Weekly offerings will include a country of the week item with a video features. Permanent features will include downloadable sounds and ringtones.”
The magazine has also appointed Matthew White as executive VP of digital markets for National Geographic Digital Media.
