Dan Senor, one of the most omnipresent faces and voices during the war in Iraq, is joining Google as vice president of global communications and strategy. The position has been vacant since Cindy McCaffrey cashed out earlier this year. As a senior advisor and chief spokesman for Paul Bremer, Senor was in one of the first civilian convoys to enter Iraq. During “Operation Iraqi Freedom,” Senor was director of the Coalition Information Center. Before that, he worked for Spencer Abraham during his tenure as senator from Michigan.
All of which suggests he could do very well as the top communications person for a company that embraces secrecy as mission-critical and is still adapting to post-IPO public life. John Battelle’s Searchblog and SearchEngineWatch
