The Hindu Business Line: As many as 70 incidents of Indian web site defacement were reported in popular domains including ‘.com’ and ‘.org’ in April compared to 67 reported in the previous month, according to data compiled by Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (Cert-in).
The bulk of defacements occurred in ‘.com’ domain. Against 32 defacements reported in March, about 43 incidents were reported in April. A total of 18 defacement cases were witnessed in ‘.co.in’, ‘.gov.in’, and `.org’ domains during the period in reference, while the rest were reported in ‘.net’, ‘.ac.in’, ‘.biz’ and ‘.info’ Web sites. There were no reports of defacement in `.edu’, `.in’ and `.name’ domains during April.
