In UK, the triumverate of main TV stations are now all making a concerted digital push: BBC, of course, Channel 4 and now ITV…The UK’s largest commercial TV network has appointed Jeff Henry to head its new consumer division, with a brief to extend the ITV brand onto developing media channels. Henry is currently recruiting a senior management team to help him run the new consumer division, which will sit alongside ITV’s main Broadcast, Content and News arms.
NMA 2: Channel 4 CEO Andy Duncan called for TV to develop “a legal, sensible download model”. But if consumers can choose when and where they consume content, then does broadcasting have any meaning?
