Business Standard: This is an update of our previous post on the Group of Ministers on print media. The GoM’s recommendations will allow foriegn inestitutional investors (FIIs) to invest in newspaper companies at the time of listing as well as in the secondary market. At present, all investments are in the form of FDI. This will help several listed companies like Mid Day Multimedia, Deccan Chronicle, and others like Hindustan Times, which is planning an IPO.
