It’s still not available on U.S. flights but in-flight internet access is starting to take off. A flurry of recent in-flight blog posts, Skype conversations and IMs drew attention to the potential. Now, Boeing flights with the Connexion service will now be part of the Boingo wireless roaming network. This may sound like an ISP announcement but it’s actually a wake-up call for content providers — for now, in-flight access, particularly at higher speeds, will be a way to reach the most affluent or techno-savvy; as prices come down, more people will log on from planes. Will it be business as usual or will in-flight browsers search for different kinds of content in different ways?
