SingTel Teams With Microsoft To Promote Mobile Content

SingTel has launched “a continuous “crawler” or ticker information for smartphones using the Windows Mobile operating system”.
Pieter Knook, Senior VP, Mobility and Embedded Division, Microsoft, USA, said: “As news and information that is relevant to that user becomes available on the home screen and they gain access to the videos, the content the operator will get paid for the carriage of that information. So that is how ARPU goes up for SingTel and the user gets up to date information for the topics and information they chose to have access to.” The service is free but users get charged for the data downloaded.
