The new design is nice, and as they said, wide columns…all in all, good.
On story pages, they’ve moved to breaking up the longer stories into separate pages. This trend (News.com is doing it now, Wired News has been doing it for a while) is really about usability: it is plain and simple inventory solution which these online publishers have resorted to…inventory shortage is a real issue and making your readers jump through multiple pages is a good way of increasing page views and inventory…
