Updated: John Federico of Audible.com clarifies yesterday’s news: Audible periodical content via RSS “will work with all standard RSS-based “podcatchers” like iPodder, Doppler, iPodderX, NetNewsWire, NewsGator, etc.” It does not require a plugin.
Two little pieces of news from Audible.com’s Shoshana Zilberberg, VP of Marketing:
– Audible last year announced they plan to offer content you may get as a Podcast, such as public radio shows, directly to your wireless device, bypassing your PC. Today she said it’s in Beta, to go live next quarter.
– With a plug-in they’re developing, you will be able to get Audible content right on iPod via RSS, so it will be automatic rather than manual delivery of, say, audio versions of periodicals. They’re working on Windows Media.
